Below are some of the common prescriptions that we compound for women to meet their specific needs:

Estriol Vaginal Cream for vaginal dryness/atrophy

This is used for vaginal dryness or vaginal atrophy often associated with menopause.  Estriol is a relatively weak estrogen but is very specific for helping maintain the vaginal lining.  Symptoms of vaginal dryness may be dryness, yeast infections or painful intercourse.  Estriol vaginal cream requires a prescription.

Hydroxyprogesterone Caproate Injection to prevent premature labor

Hydroxyprogesterone Caproate Injection is a once weekly injection to prevent preterm labor in women who have a history of premature birth or are at high risk.  There is no commercially available product so it must be compounded.  Our sterile compounding facility allows us to compound this important medication to help prevent preterm deliveries.

Newman's Nipple Ointment for breastfeeding

This is used to treat raw and irritated nipples during breastfeeding.  It is a combination of a low dose steroid, antifungal, antiinflammatory and antibacterial medications which works very well.  Sore nipples are usually associated with latching problems but if that has been investigated and you are still having problems, Dr. Newman's Nipple Ointment may be a good option for you.
