Is home infusion covered by insurance?

YES. Most private insurance plans and Medicaid cover home infusion services. Medicare coverage is limited but some therapies are covered like TPN. Call the pharmacy for specific coverage questions.

The you and your family or caregiver are instructed on how to safely administer your IV medications.

Who does this type of teaching?

Home health nurses are highly skilled in teaching on proper infusion technique.

Is home infusion safe?

YES. Home infusion has been shown to result in few catheter related infections as well as keeping you from getting exposed to resistant bugs in a hospital setting.

What types of treatments are usually infused at home?

IV antibiotics and antifungals, TPN, IV hydration, pain management and IV immune globulin.

How do I get home infusion for myself or family member?
