By combining antiviral and pain medications in an easy-to-use lip balm applicator, we can compound a medicated lip balm that is helpful in treating this painful, annoying and embarrassing condition.  

This multi-function formula treats the viral component with acyclovir and 2-Deoxy-D-Glucose and the pain and burning with lidocaine and ibuprofen.  In addition, we also add sunscreen to afford protection from the sun’s U/V rays which can cause an outbreak.

The lip balm is used as needed to keep the lesion covered for the duration of the outbreak.  A 5 gram tube (the size of a typical lip balm applicator) lasts for several treatments.
