About Compounded Medications

Unlike standard medications you'd pick up off the shelf, compounded medications are custom-prepared by a pharmacist to match the exact prescription your provider wrote for you. The dose, delivery method, and formulation are all tailored to your individual needs, something mass-manufactured medications simply can't offer.

Because each compound is unique to the patient, there's no standardized package insert or general literature included with your prescription. That's why we encourage every patient to have a thorough conversation with their provider about why a compounded medication was chosen for them, how to take it correctly, and whether there are any interactions to be aware of given their current medications.

Compounding is one of pharmacy's oldest and most trusted practices. It allows providers to move beyond the limitations of commercially available medications and treat patients as individuals. This includes adjusting strength, removing allergens, changing the form of a medication, or combining multiple therapies into one.

At Redline, we prepare every compound to the precise specifications your provider orders, held to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Call your health care provider if:

  1. You experience any side effects
  2. You are taking additional medicines that may interact with this compounded medicine
  3. You have allergies or other medical conditions that should be noted.

Call our pharmacists if:

  1. Information on the label is not clear to you
  2. You have any concerns regarding precautions, ingredients or proper storage

Our pharmacists will be happy to help with any additional questions or concerns. Please call 402-462-2929 or 888-772-7108 (toll-free).
