18 Feb Keto Diets vs. Ideal Protein
Ketogenic (Keto) diets have become increasingly popular over the last few years. A ketogenic diet is a diet that is low in carbohydrates or sugar and higher in protein and fat. Since your diet does not contain carbohydrates for your body to burn for energy, you enter ketosis and start burning fat for energy creating “ketones”… where the name comes from. Therefore, you lose weight by burning your excess fat.
There are many studies that show lowering carbohydrates & sugar and eating a more protein and fat based diet is good for you. The problem is that some keto diets suggest you eat high amounts of animal fat and animal protein. This type of protein can cause problems. Too much animal protein is hard to absorb and can cause plaque buildup in your arteries and heart. If you want to try a ketogenic diet, check out our Ideal Protein weight loss program.
