Managing Autoimmune Conditions with Low Dose Naltrexone
Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) was first used for autoimmune conditions. In fact, one of the first LDN studies was done on patients with Crohn’s Disease. LDN has unique immune modulating properties which help calm the immune system and can help improve autoimmune disease symptoms.
Current treatments for autoimmune disease include expensive medications that suppress a certain part of your immune system. While this may help with some of your symptoms, you are more vulnerable to developing other infections.
Low dose naltrexone (LDN) can be a good, low cost and low risk option for your autoimmune condition and can also be used together with other medications. Below is a sampling of studies on LDN and its use in a variety of autoimmune conditions.
